"Does it LOOK like we have a river?!" she huffed "There is a fallen water tower over there. The thing is probably too big to get through the bars."

"I'm only a complete ass when someone is trying to take my adopted little brother." she said "Now, five bucks says its light sensitive, and instead of preparing you a funeral, we could just lead it somewhere with light and have no one die so I don't have to waste my money on your dead body"

"Man, I'd love to chop off your tongue sometimes." he snorted. He gazed ahead. The light was much far away. "Uhh, do you have a mirror?"

"Nice, kiddo." he took it, holding it by the edge. "Now I'm just going to bet on this one for it to catch light and blind him, and probably burn out his eyes. Fifty-fifty chance it'll outrun us and probably eat us up before it hits the light." the trees' 'eaves were blocking out the sunlight and he huffed, hoping that somehow a small gap would just show up, and reflect the light...
Gotcha! He stopped running and aimed the mirror to reflect on the mutant.

"No." he yawned. "You bring back memories of my brother." he said. "And I don't want to file a boring paperwork about this and that, blah blah blah, almost-human types, fins and ears and robes, whatever."

"Because I'm fabulous." he leaned on the tree, yawning (for what seemed the 347892th time). "I did well on the exams. Though my effort skills are low."
